Wood Buddha

Well I've been messing tonight as I came to pop the "wood buddha" on and started to play with buttons on the pc........ and got carried away.....

Anyway This arch is made from window scrim.... I took out the threads that go accross and used the machine to make the trees in zigzag stitch and took the threads accross to meet up... I used cotton fabric and printed the buddha and quilted it..... then applied the scrim on top to form a 3d effect. click on image to enlarge.

19.10.08

Fabric Arch Challenge

This weeks Friday challenge for Rosie and Lindas Art adventure is a fabric arch..
Had great fun researching this one, and as I love arch doors and windows I decided on a door leading into the secret garden.. made in two layers with wadding...... I sorted the garden out then the arch which I machined brick by brick...... in normal stitch and the arch a little heavier zigzag machining, then made some ivy which was a pain.... with dissolve fabric and applied to the arch..... I think I got the 3D effect.... by adding the arch layer to the garden and stitching down
which shows up more if you click on the close up.

DH has to make a frame for it, not sure if I need an arch shape rough wood..... It did turn out bigger than I had first planned........ we will see what he comes up with....

16.10.08

These little beauties are at the bottom of the arch..
they were made from dipping seed beads into the melting pot and re-dipping to make larger, before the clear coat wire was wound around the bead. very affective

I have to be more careful now with this one.

Richard Box Technique

This project I have done using the Richard Box technique
The frame is foam board and textured with muslin and painted with acrylic paints. The middle is hand made paper fibre, and the picture is inside the paper frame.
Bought the book after watching a demo.

14.8.08

Textured project

Well I have had a very interesting time doing this project
Thinking ouside the box as we do from time to time I DID
and ended up with a piece that my friend said Looks like a giraffe
walking by the window another said a cereal bar.... I said no its a
sun can't you see it.......

Think they are secret crafters

I have used foam board for the frame and tyvek for the sun and made paper fibers for the surround

I am finishing off my giraffe walking by the window through the hole in the curtain eating a cereal bar in the summer sun, just need to put the final paint job to lighten the frame and glue together.
I don't like this project item I have done, But it has given me an idea for my art/raffle project.

12.8.08

Meet my bear friends

These little friends are all Royal bears..... They sit and watch me craft and don't say a word...

I think they come out to play at night

The most beautiful toy is
worn and frazzled with love. It
Has shared confidences and has
Been dragged, wagged, hugged,
Squeezed, and slept with over
the years. What memories that
Soft little body must hold. It’s a
Good friend, becoming more
Treasured with the passing of time.

Hearts

This piece is also Angelina I have machined over and added some beads....

Not sure what to do with it yet
